Wikipedia was for long regarded a poorly reliable resource for academic purposes – both as source of information and as publication tool. While the web’s leading encyclopedia has made its way into most student’s daily routine, scholars and lecturers remain in skeptical distance. This is unfounded and regrettable at the same time, will be argued by our speakers, as Wikipedia can play a substantial role in research and teaching – to the benefit of all sides: scholars, professors, students, Wikipedia and the wider public of users. How to create such a multiple win-win-situation? Come and see and discuss !
