Conference ‘Reflecting on peace in Ukraine: long term narratives, wars of disinformation, peace diplomacy and peace building‘

The Coimbra Group is organising the Conference ‘Reflecting on peace in Ukraine: long term narratives, wars of disinformation, peace diplomacy and peace building‘, which will be held in Brussels (Czeck Permanent Representation) on 23-24 January 2023.
This conference is an initiative of the Coimbra Group Social Sciences and Humanities Working Group co-organised with the EC2U Alliance. It aims at stimulating a balanced, scholarly debate on the weight of history in the current Russian’s war in Ukraine and its impact on related conflicting narratives and disinformation.
Participants will focus on hypotheses of mediation between the two countries that imply both the victims’ protection and ways to shape a broad process aimed a truce. We will also address international peace-keeping actions and the opening of diplomatic channels between all parties involved, directly and indirectly.
