Investing in What Makes Europe Strong: Research, Innovation in the Next EU Budget

Coimbra Group, together with CESAER, EUA, EU-LIFE, The Guild, LERU, and YERUN is organising the event on “Investing in What Makes Europe Strong: Research, Innovation in the Next EU Budget”, taking place in Brussels on 9 September 2026 at the University Foundation. At the event, the participants will discuss the investment that Europe must make to deliver on its ambitions, highlighting the critical contribution of research and innovation.
As negotiation on FP10 and the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034 are entering a decisive phase, at the event we will reflect on the importance of a strong and ambitious R&I budget, opening the discussion with high-level EU policymakers and key stakeholders.
